Part of BBC North West’s ‘Inside Out’ programme on Mon 6 December, 7.30pm, told the story of a young Guernsey evacuee, Paulette Le Mescam who came to Cheshire in June 1940, and found comfort from an extraordinary transatlantic penpal – Mrs Eleanor Roosevelt. It was also shown on the Channel Islands via BBC1′s ‘Inside Out South West’ programme at 7.30pm on the same date.
